Terms & Policies

  • Afrofestival Ottawa is operated by Africa Live Canada, a non-profit organization. All visitors agree to comply with festival rules, staff instructions, safety procedures, and applicable laws while on festival grounds.

    The festival reserves the right to:

    • Refuse entry or remove any individual for unsafe or disruptive behavior

    • Modify programming, schedules, or site layout without notice

    • Enforce capacity limits for safety reasons

    Routes to Mooney's Bay

    1. Drive In and Out routes to Canada Post parking from Heron Rd.

    2. Drive In route into Mooney's Bay from Riverside Dr.

    4. Drive out route to Riverside Drive from Mooney's Bay.

    • Afrofestival Ottawa is generally free to attend until venue capacity is reached.

    • Once capacity thresholds are met:

    • Tickets may be issued under third-party ticketing terms

    • Tickets purchased at the main entrance are non-refundable once entry is granted

    • All tickets must be presented for entry (digital or printed).

  • • A variety of food vendors will serve authentic cuisine throughout the festival.
    • Water and beverages are available for purchase on site.
    • 19+ ID required for alcohol purchases in designated areas.

Health & Safety

  • Afrofestival Ottawa operates with a comprehensive security plan.

    • Professional contracted security personnel on site
    • Ottawa Police presence throughout the event
    • Bag checks and controlled entry points
    • One official entrance and exit
     

    All attendees must comply with security screening procedures.

  • A First Aid Station is located near the exit gate and staffed during festival hours. If you or someone near you requires medical assistance, notify festival staff or security immediately.

  • Stay connected, capture the moments, and enjoy the festival with complimentary phone charging stations. These are available behind the Sound Box Production Area for your convenience. If you need help locating the charging stations, feel free to ask festival staff, security, or any official Afrofestival Ottawa representative at any entrance or information point. They’ll be happy to direct you

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

  • Yes. All attendees must have a ticket (free or paid) to enter the festival grounds.

  • You are tagged with a wristband at the entrance, This tag allows officials to identify you and allow you free entering and re-entering the festival grounds. Re-entry policies may vary based on capacity and security conditions.

  • Yes. Afrofestival Ottawa is a family-friendly event.

  • Alcohol is available in designated areas. Valid government-issued ID is required (19+).

  • Portable washrooms and accessible facilities are located throughout the festival grounds.

  • Pets are not recommended. Service animals are permitted.
