The success of this event depends mostly on the contribution of volunteers. To make the first-ever in person Ottawa’s Afrofestestival memorable, Africa live Canada is recruiting devoted, passionate of  culture and kind individuals who want to give back to their community.  

 

There are various roles volunteers will be playing throughout the operating hours of the festival. 

Volunteers will be helping to set up and tear down the banners and tents placed around the 

park, handling the information and sponsorship kiosk, distributing brochures and flyers, 

registering Africa live Canada new members, registering vendors upon their arrival, assisting the 

performers and the members of the organization team provide traffic control, and help will 

many other tasks.  

 

Volunteers will be asked to work a MINIMUM of five (5) hours shift during the day of the festival 

on September 07th and 09th from 8 AM to 12 AM. You will also be asked to be present on Sunday 

September 08th to help tear down the festivity site. A mandatory meeting will be held between September 01st and September 06th, 2023 to review the procedure and schedule of Afrofestival Ottawa. 

 

As an Afrofestival Ottawa volunteer, you will be receiving a volunteer T-shirt and one (1) meal

voucher with a value of 10$ to be used in any food concessions on the festival site during your break.
